JULY 2016 | Adams Update
2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
We made it! We’re in Guatemala now, thanking the Lord and getting to work!
This week, we started Spanish School in Antigua, Guatemala. What an adventure! We all enjoy our teachers. After the first day, Lawrence and Jenna were feeling like they learned a lot and had fun. Jo, on the other hand, felt very overwhelmed and is working through it. Please pray for understanding as this is our primary way to communicate and is a NEED. Our attendance at this school was made possible by Mt. Haley Church of God, our home church – they felt that this was a good way to invest in us and our ministry. We are very grateful for this foresight.
Excitement From Our Trip
When God is working in people to do GREAT things, then Satan really attacks. Some of you saw our post on Facebook asking for prayers while we were in Miami, Florida due to a break in to our vehicle. The man who robbed us was looking at our vehicle and trailer while we were still in it.
We were very fortunate that Lawrence listened to God’s urging to park in a safer location closer to the store we were getting sunscreen at; otherwise, we fear that we could have been injured or robbed physically. We had several laptops and other electronics stolen. Please pray for this man. We are praising God that we were able to replace the necessities prior to leaving for Guatemala, as they are significantly more expensive here. This event and Miami traffic made for difficult logistics to get the items we were shipping sent off; however, God was with us through it all and allowed us to leave Miami as scheduled.
Our First Weeks
Since we have been in Guatemala, we have been able to visit the Tracks and speak to our partners there, and we have been prayed over by the Church in this neighborhood. We are also excited to have been here for the birth of our dear friends Marco and Suceli’s 3rd child, Jullian David, a bouncing baby boy:
In our last newsletter, we told you that we had some details to iron out when we arrived so we could live in our new home – we’re happy to report that we’ve been able to get necessities, such as beds and appliances, and to move in. The rest will come in time.
We are so very grateful for this opportunity to serve God, Guatemala, and you. You are the reason we are able to serve God IN Guatemala.
Thank you for your continued support!
