Foundation For Missions-Russia

Edward & Julia

Edward Ananyev

Edward grew up under the spiritual leadership of Bishop Nikolai Zalutsky in Pskov, Russia. He attended the Pskov Bible College under the leadership of Norm and Connie Flagg. He graduated in 1994.

Edward believed then that God had a calling on his life to serve in missions “Here am I, send me” (Isaiah 6:8) has been his guiding word from God. So he started by serving the Lord in youth ministry at the church and later became the director of the Pskov Bible College. In 2006 the Lord called him to serve as the Administrator for the Russian Union of Evangelical Churches and later to become the pastor for the Chinese churches in Moscow.

Edward Ananev Ph.D. is now serving as Director of Foundation for Missions in Moscow, Russia, where he lives with his wife Julia and their young son, Jan .

Foundation for Missions Vision in Russia:

1. Developing of training centers in Russia and other countries as lead.
Bible schools have been founded by Mission work in Volgograd, Barnaul and Khabarovsk. The one in Khabarovsk is experiencing a special need for teachers and financial support. We pray and plan to start the same schools in Kirgizia (Middle Asia) and Armenia.
2. Preparing missionary teams on the base of Russian-Chinese Church in Moscow.
The Bible tells us to go and preach the Gospel all around the world. We believe that this heavenly call is directed to every one of us. With this purpose, we plan to develop missionary teams for work in China and Vietnam. We also plan to cooperate with Russian churches in Cyprus, Turkey and Lebanon.
3. There is a problem in Russia, which is not very popular to talk about.
Home violence against women. We are praying about developing as special refuge for women who suffer from such violence where they and their children can find safety, receive help from lawyers and medical care if needed. Moreover, the most important aim is to give them opportunity to meet Christ. We are starting small but believing that with partnership and support for this will grow. But faithful is the Lord who has started His work in Russia. He has been helping us till today and He’s going to lead us further to achieving set goals.

Edward is also the author of five scientific publications and two books; “Social Service of Russian Protestants” and “ Church and Society.”

Please pray for him as he develops the program and vision for Foundation for Missions in Russia.

He also has two young adult daughters; Angelika and Liana.

Church and Media by Edward Ananyev

The book is a practical tool to help build relationships between the church and the media. It is an especially helpful tool for Russian Protestant Pastors.

There are complicated relations between the political society and the church. Many politicians regard the Protestant Church as an American sect, and the media makes false reports about in this regard.
