Christmas Outreach

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:14

So many things we are thankful for this Holiday season. We give thanks to our Lord, Savior and King, Jesus Christ, to be called children of God.

Friday night, December 15,2017, was our women’s Christmas party. I was in charge of a game and craft activity. I made 50+ giant sugar cookies and brought icing and sprinkles for them to decorate. They have never done that before so it was a real treat. My game was filling a carpetbag with random items. Some of the items were awesome like kitchen stuff, makeup, coffee, jewelry, chocolate etc and then I had some other items mixed in that were hilarious like women’s items, sardines, clothesline clips, a diaper, a roll of toilet paper etc. Each lady was given a turn to pull out an item without looking. Whatever they pulled out, they got to keep. You can’t see it in this photo but this sweet little Quechuan lady is pulling out a rubber chicken! We had a wonderful time with an evening full of laughter, worship, and food. Praise the Lord for these wonderful ladies that I get to live life with.

Chocolatada is a Christmas tradition in Peru. It is the custom to have hot chocolate, panettone (a traditional fruit cake), and to give children a gift. Iglesia Cristiana de la Gracia prepared and served the Kid’s Club, which meets every Saturday, and the local community through a chocolatada. This is always a great way to share the gospel message to our neighbors and to gather together to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Youth and college age students came to our house for a time of worship and dinner. Please be in prayer over these students. Joe has been faithfully meeting with them for the past several years walking along side them pushing them to deepen their relationship with Jesus. It has been encouraging to see them grow in their faith and to bring along their unbelieving friends to hear about God’s Word.

Why do we go to the unreached people of Peru preaching and teaching? We want God’s name and glory to be magnified among the nations, so we go. Our vision is to train indigenous leaders and pastors throughout Peru so that they may be better equipped to reach their people for Jesus Christ.

We pray for our supporters regularly and would like to thank you for pouring into our family. We also pray that you may be willing to partner with us that we may continue the work to establish a solid biblical church. Also, pray that God rises up leaders for the ministry and that He would sustain our family as we live and work among the indigenous people of Cusco, Peru and Amazon jungle.
