Star Ferdinand

At the age of 47, Star Ferdinand went on her first mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Four years later, the words ….“Your heart is in Honduras” echoed in her mind as she wrote in her journal, “I’m not ready to move there permanently, but I definitely want to spend more time there.” On June 9, 2011, at the age of 55, Star moved to Tegucigalpa.

Star has been teaching English to teenagers and adults at Iglesia Misionera de Cristo. During their first trimester, beginning students received a bilingual New Testament and read a short passage from it, in English and Spanish, each week. During the second trimester, the students read from either the book of Acts or the Gospel of Mark. Class sizes were kept small, with a maximum of six students each. During the regular school year, classes met two hours a week. During their November to February break, the teens’ classes met six hours each week.

As of 2017 Star is transitioning back to the USA to work with immigrants.

I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Romans 15:30
