Richard and Melissa Jefferson

Ambassadors for Guatemala

Richard and Melissa Jefferson have left the field in Guatemala City where they had served as Missionaries and worked at the Christian Academy of Guatemala for a number of years.

They felt called to move back to the United States mid 2016 to be closer to their parents, and their adult children. They have moved to Savannah Georgia. They will now serve as Ambassadors for Foundation for Missions.

Their ministry teaching English to children that live in the Basurero in Guatemala City will continue. Richard has changed jobs and now teaches high school math teacher in a private, Christian school. This is a new mission field for him. Melissa is now a teacher to 3 year olds in a church preschool. They plan to return to Guatemala every summer, as soon as summer break begins. And will be taking teams to Guatemala every summer as well.

And they are starting a new phase of their ministry there providing sponsors for a few children to attend a missionary run private Christian school. This will give them an even greater opportunity to escape the poverty in which they live. if you would like to find out more about child sponsorship through them please contact them.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in ALL our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

2 Corinthians 1: 3-4

Our hope is to give to others from the help that God has given us through the years.
