Foundation for Missions

Ambassador ProgramIMG_8757

The Foundation for Missions has a new category of personnel called “Ambassadors.” This is to facilitate the growing number of Christian leaders who are capable of traveling, recruiting, managing and promoting mission using the Foundation for Missions as their administrative platform.

Typically, there have been two distinct dimensions of missions: home and abroad. Missions has been organized so that the church would send someone to the “mission field” to learn the language and culture, preach the gospel, plant churches, and work in numerous benevolent programs. Those Christians that did not “go” could be involved in a short-term mission trip, but their primary role was supportive in nature. Their job description was that of praying, supporting, enabling, equipping or even training. But these two roles were always kept separated and autonomous.

We are experiencing a new wave of missions that is being carried out as an advance of the short-term mission wave that the church has experienced over the last 40 years. It is a wave of Christians who have the “calling,” time and resources to spend part of their year in a foreign country and part of it at home. They can travel freely back and forth, communicate daily over the internet, promote aggressively in their community and achieve significant projects (ministries, programs, etc.) in the field. These “Ambassadors” (see Acts 1:8) are a new type of missionary personnel that are increasing throughout the world.

The Foundation for Missions has a virtual office through the internet and our website in order to facilitate administration, accounting, mission teams, ministry tools, information, communication, synchronization and accountability for the Ambassador program.

It’s been a beautiful blessing to partner with these special folks for part of their ministry journey.
As Foundation closes over the next few months keep Thad and Sara Tucker (serving in Botswana) in your prayers as they move on with another mission organization.
